CEEG assists the country’s first 10,000-ton Narisong hydrogen production step-down station

At 14:38 on December 29, 2023, the Narisong hydrogen production step-down station successfully delivered power at one time. At 18:00 on December 29, 2023, the Narisong photovoltaic boost station successfully delivered power at one time. This marks that The country's first 10,000-ton new energy hydrogen production project, the Narisong photovoltaic hydrogen production industry demonstration project in Jungar Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, was successfully connected to the grid. This project uses the ZHSS-12000/35 24-pulse IGBT hydrogen production rectifier transformer independently developed, designed, and manufactured by CEEG.

01 Project Introduction

The Narisong project is the first batch of integrated wind and solar hydrogen production demonstration projects in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the first largest 10,000-ton new energy hydrogen production project in the Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the country, and even the world. It is funded by China Three Gorges New Energy (Group) Co., Ltd. The company is building a joint venture with Manshi Investment Group Co., Ltd. The project uses coal mining backfill areas to build photovoltaic power stations. The average annual power generation is about 740 million kilowatt hours, of which 20% will be directly transmitted to the local power grid and the remaining 80% will be used for green hydrogen production.

The project installs 15 sets of 1,000 standard cubic meters/hour alkaline electrolytic hydrogen production equipment, with an annual output of about 10,000 tons of hydrogen and about 80,000 tons of oxygen. To ensure the security of the power grid, the project uses 10,000-ampere IGBT power supplies (insulated gate bipolar transistors) for the first time to replace traditional thyristors. This is the first large-scale use in the global green electricity hydrogen production industry. It can improve the comprehensive conversion efficiency of the hydrogen production system and play a leading role in the technological development of domestic hydrogen production power sources.

02 Core technology

China Three Gorges Corporation’s Ordos Narisong 10,000-ton green hydrogen project is a large-scale project aimed at using renewable energy to produce hydrogen energy. The project uses electrolysis water to produce hydrogen technology, using renewable energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy as power sources to produce hydrogen through electrolysis of water. However, water electrolysis hydrogen production technology requires a high-power DC power supply, and traditional AC power supply needs to be converted through a transformer. Therefore, the design and manufacturing of hydrogen production rectifier transformers have become one of the key technologies of the project.

CEEG carefully researched and manufactured the ZHSS-12000/35 24-pulse IGBT hydrogen production rectifier transformer for this project. From the beginning of the design, it was closely combined with the actual usage scenarios and operation conditions of the project and was precise and refined based on the original rectifier transformer technology. Innovation and upgrading, so that the product can meet customer satisfaction at one time and be put into production quickly, helping customers realize benefit transformation.

1. The dual-body mesh moves laterally in sync with the pressure-regulating structure;

2. Box-top type double body hanging core structure;

3. The phase shift angle deviation of each tap gear and the transformation ratio error of each tap gear is determined by using basic winding taps, taking into account both the phase shift angle deviation and the transformation ratio deviation;

4. The copper oil temperature difference deviation of the two low-voltage windings: the copper oil temperature difference of the upper winding is usually about 10K higher than that of the lower winding. By adjusting the coil oil circuit structure, the temperature difference between the two windings can be effectively reduced;

5. Deviation of the two half-crossing impedances: By adjusting the body structure, ensure that the deviation of the two half-crossing impedances is within a reasonable range.

03 Strong strength

CEEG has been deeply involved in the transformer industry for more than 30 years and has rich experience and experience in the design and manufacturing of rectifier transformers. According to the current development status of water electrolysis technology at home and abroad, CLP rectifier transformers are based on strict temperature field simulation analysis and CLP Electric's two core technologies - high-temperature resistant insulation system & seven-level temperature control technology. The product insulation performance is safe and reliable.

As the main drafting unit of GB/Z1094.14-2011 "Power Transformers Part 14: Design and Application of Liquid-immersed Transformers Using High-Temperature Insulating Materials", CEEG is based on DuPont's Nomex® insulation system and core seven-level temperature control Technology and insulation performance have reached the industry's advanced level.

Hydrogen energy is known as the "ultimate energy source of the 21st century". In the context of carbon neutrality, CEEG continues to consolidate its advantageous position in rectifier transformers, providing high-quality transformer solutions for green hydrogen production from renewable energy sources in China, and boosting the development of hydrogen energy. Industrial development is moving towards the "fast lane".
